A New Model of Quasigeoid for the Baltic Sea Area

The Space Research Centre in Warsaw is participating the ESA project “Geodetic SAR for Height System Unification and Sea Level Research”. To observe absolute sea level enable unification of height systems, physical heights tide gauge stations referring to a common equipotential surface (quasigeoid/geoid) are needed. This paper describes new quasigeoid model area Baltic sea. calculation was carried out according Helmert method, which topography condensed on layer lying geoid. Airborne gravity anomalies from terrestrial Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland were used. necessary terrain corrections have been computed digital based SRTM30 model. compute long-wavelength part quasigeoid, geopotential models GOCE-DIR6, GOCO06s, EIGEN-6C4 used; therefore, three solutions obtained. All calculations done zero-tide system. obtained regular 1.5’ × 3.0’ grid GRS80 reference system, covering surrounding 52° < ϕ 68° 11° λ 30°. These gravimetric quasigeoids compared undulations derived at 29 GNSS/leveling points ASG-EUPOS permanent network, located study area. Our show that accuracy calculated almost same all cases about ±0.04 meters. Finally, interpolated Polish stations. solution could be very important system unification, geophysical purposes as well engineering purposes.
